Explore Peru — Cusco, Machu Picchu, Saqsaywaman and Pisac Created by Hunter Finley. Four-location Windows edition v004, October 2026. This edition preserves the accepted Cusco and Machu Picchu environments and adds Saqsaywaman and the filmed Qallaqasa area at Pisac. All four destinations share one location menu with separate saved progress. Original acknowledgements for Cusco and Machu Picchu follow the new expansion credits. === V004 EXPERIENCE AND HERO FILM === All four locations share a local travel book, photograph album, favourites, photo-mode controls and optional observations. The new stair flights, polygonal stone faces, ground materials and vegetation are authored interpretations. Original footage and earlier reconstruction candidates are preserved. The 80-second hero film is captured inside these playable environments. Its music uses the existing edited Charango improvisation by Bmangelo, CC0 1.0: https://freesound.org/people/Bmangelo/sounds/466485/ https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/ The existing mix is extended to the film duration with opening and ending fades. It is not a field recording from Peru. Earlier film notes below describe preserved previous editions; the current film contains four 20-second chapters. === SAQSAYWAMAN AND PISAC === Original drone footage and telemetry: Hunter Finley, August 2025. Working copies were verified against the source checksums; original footage was not modified. Ground shapes and architectural layout draw on drone reconstructions, interpreted footprints and OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL): https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright Regional terrain: SRTM, courtesy of the US Geological Survey, via Terrain Tiles: https://registry.opendata.aws/terrain-tiles/ The wider landscape, city context, planting, missing walls, stone faces, doorways, stairs and visitor paths are artistic reconstructions. Global scan orientation and disconnected terrain pieces were aligned approximately. These are not survey-accurate models or official visitor routes. Pisac represents the filmed ridge and terraces, not the entire archaeological park or Sacred Valley. Materials and plants reuse Poly Haven CC0 assets listed in the Machu Picchu credits. Bedrock combines cropped geometry from Hunter's drone reconstruction with authored surrounding geometry; no third-party rock scan is included. Cloud assets are bundled Unreal Engine assets under the Epic Games license. The distant city reuses the acknowledged Cusco context where included. Twenty-two clips were generated in one pass using authorized included subscription credits. Tour text, generation receipts and timed captions are retained in the source project. Tikal and the collectible rewards are fictional game elements. Existing music, footsteps and illustrative bird recordings retain their licenses below. === CUSCO === # Cusco Plaza asset credits and provenance Windows preview release49. Preserve these credits with redistributed copies. Source archives and checksum receipts are preserved under the reconstruction assets folder. ## Original capture Cusco drone photographs, video and telemetry: Hunter Finley, September 2025. Capture-derived Compañía and roofscape; reconstruction, geometry cleanup and camera texture projection applied. Original files preserved and rehashed (29/29 unchanged). ## Cathedral Cathedral of Cusco scan by **Industrial-Drones. Julio Durand**, licensed [CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). [Original model](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/e5b3043994e648a2a7b49fdd37de74ce). Changes: coordinate/scale alignment, mesh cleanup and Unreal material preparation using the paired original texture atlases. No endorsement implied. ## Poly Haven assets — CC0 [Poly Haven license](https://polyhaven.com/license). Geometry scaled and prepared for Unreal; materials adjusted. - [rectangular_paving](https://polyhaven.com/a/rectangular_paving) — Dimitrios Savva. - [cobblestone_floor_05](https://polyhaven.com/a/cobblestone_floor_05) — Rob Tuytel. - [clay_roof_tiles](https://polyhaven.com/a/clay_roof_tiles) — Amal Kumar. - [stone_wall_02](https://polyhaven.com/a/stone_wall_02) — Dario Barresi, Charlotte Baglioni. - [leafy_grass](https://polyhaven.com/a/leafy_grass) — Charlotte Baglioni. - [white_plaster_02](https://polyhaven.com/a/white_plaster_02) — Rob Tuytel. - [grass_bermuda_01](https://polyhaven.com/a/grass_bermuda_01) — Rico Cilliers. - [jacaranda_tree](https://polyhaven.com/a/jacaranda_tree) — Rob Tuytel, Rico Cilliers. - [tree_small_02](https://polyhaven.com/a/tree_small_02) — Rico Cilliers. ## Mapped layout and distant city © OpenStreetMap contributors, [ODbL 1.0](https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright). Plaza layout, mapped trees, covered portals and building footprints used. Heights/roof styles absent from the map were inferred; distant buildings are approximate context. Source queries and extracted data retained. ## Regional terrain SRTM/GMTED2010 terrain data courtesy of the U.S. Geological Survey; Mapzen/Tilezen Terrain Tiles. [Source registry](https://registry.opendata.aws/terrain-tiles/), [attribution details](https://github.com/tilezen/joerd/blob/master/docs/attribution.md). Rebased to captured plaza datum, smoothed and blended at the central scene boundary. Context terrain, not survey measurements. ## Distant satellite material — 2016 layer only Sentinel-2 cloudless - https://s2maps.eu by EOX IT Services GmbH (Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data 2016 & 2017). [CC BY 4.0 layer announcement and attribution](https://eox.at/2017/08/sentinel-2-global-cloudless-mosaic/). Changes: tiled mosaic, geographic mapping onto the terrain. The imagery predates the 2025 capture and is used only for distant context. ## Rebuilt details and limits Clean plaza paving, steps, arcades, benches, lamp posts, fountain bowls and approximate Pachacutec pose were built for this project against the capture and mapped layout. Fine fountain facial/mermaid ornament, planting species and some facade detail are approximations. The Wikimedia fountain reference is for study; its photograph is not a distributed scene texture. Unreal Engine and its bundled engine assets are used under the applicable Epic Games license. No third-party reconstruction executables are intended to be bundled in the walkthrough. Distant context refinement: 7,378 additional approximate building masses and 10,047 lightweight hill trees supplement sparse mapped footprints outside the captured central area. Their individual positions and forms are inferred; they are not presented as surveyed or capture-recovered buildings. Clay roof finish uses the credited Poly Haven material. ## Fidelity upgrade — 2026-09-14 Additional Poly Haven CC0 assets: periwinkle_plant — Amal Kumar; searsia_lucida — James Ray Cock (modeling), Jenelle van Heerden (photography); fir_tree_01 — Rob Tuytel (photography), Rico Cilliers (modeling). Source links: https://polyhaven.com/a/periwinkle_plant ; https://polyhaven.com/a/searsia_lucida ; https://polyhaven.com/a/fir_tree_01 . Checksums, original downloads and license receipts remain under fidelity-v002/assets/plant-sources-v001. Plants are artistic equivalents, not verified botanical identifications from the footage. The fuller tree variant modifies the credited tree_small_02 canopy. Fountain water sound is original local procedural synthesis, not a field recording of Cusco. New cast aquatic figures and ornamental details are reference-guided interpretations, not exact recovered sculpture. New paving/drain details and distant roof/window refinements are environment-art approximations. The v004 background uses 8,545 far canopy proxies and 316 detailed instanced fir trees; earlier background counts above describe the preserved v001 version. ## September 14 fidelity additions — final review revision The four garden motifs are derived from Hunter's registered DJI_20250901114813_0108_D.JPG with existing camera calibration and plaza grade, fitted to mapped beds. No new capture or camera reconstruction. The 14,371 pale gravel pieces are locally generated approximations; tree-occluded fine strokes remain incomplete. New narrow tiled eaves (17,920 caps) follow existing mapped portal lines, retaining original scanned roofs. Distant inferred infill was revised to 16,843 buildings with terrain-fitted foundations; 8,500 far proxy crowns and316 detailed fir instances. Roof/plaster/organic soil reuse already credited CC0 Poly Haven source textures. These assets and the local fountain water synthesis introduce no new paid license or API use. Historical counts above refer to preserved earlier candidates. ## Facade rebuild v003 — ornamental additions and Carnes capital Ornamental plants (CC0, Poly Haven): https://polyhaven.com/a/flower_gazania ; https://polyhaven.com/a/flower_empodium ; https://polyhaven.com/a/flower_ursinia ; https://polyhaven.com/a/flower_heliophila ; https://polyhaven.com/a/shrub_01 . Author metadata, provider checksums and original sources retained in facade-rebuild-v003/assets/plant-sources-v001/*/receipt.json. Art-directed planting; species not claimed present in Hunter's capture. Authentic Portal de Carnes capital: **capitel adosado_ejercicio 05 yurico rivera**, by **levantamiento1** (Yurico Rivera credited in model title), https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/6daf5aa61bfb47f2a83dfde940534e2c , **CC BY4.0** https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ . Original source and GLB downloads retained with SHA256 receipts. Modified by orienting and cropping the carved head, excluding broken surrounding wall and survey stickers; original vertex colours retained. Scene use subject to exact placement review. Ground façade photographs are reference-only so far: Wikimedia Commons catalogue and per-photo author/license/date metadata retained under facade-rebuild-v003/reference. No third-party facade photographs have been assigned as runtime textures in this rebuild yet. Church surface-detail candidate: photograph by Draceane, Cuzco, Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús, 2023 (02), CC BY-SA4.0. Source: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cuzco,_Iglesia_de_la_Compa%C3%B1%C3%ADa_de_Jes%C3%BAs,_2023_(02).jpg . License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ . Original photograph retained unmodified. Derived surface material uses manual UV registration, confidence masking and colour adjustment; that adapted material is licensed CC BY-SA4.0. Other project assets retain their own licenses. Original/full metadata and hashes under facade-rebuild-v003/reference/photos-original/189774836.json. Candidate subject to visual acceptance. ## September 15 full pass — current replacements Hunter Finley's 2025 drone capture and IMG_9818–IMG_9830 photographs supply planting, furniture, fountain, sculpture, chapel and facade reference. New local reconstructions remain approximations on unseen surfaces; exact park-tree species remain unverified. The aquatic figures are tritons, not mermaids (correcting older wording above). Cathedral photograph: Diego Delso, https://delso.photo, CC BY-SA 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ . Source: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Catedral,_Plaza_de_Armas,_Cusco,_Per%C3%BA,_2015-07-31,_DD_73.JPG . Compañía photograph: Diego Delso, same author/license; source https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Iglesia_de_la_Compa%C3%B1%C3%ADa_de_Jes%C3%BAs,_Plaza_de_Armas,_Cusco,_Per%C3%BA,_2015-07-31,_DD_51.JPG . Changes: geometric registration, facade crops, colour blending, texture atlases, surface-strip masking and masonry extraction. These adapted atlases are CC BY-SA 4.0; other project assets retain their own licenses. Original downloads, metadata and SHA256 receipts remain under the corresponding assets/*-day-reference-* folders. A separate apardavila Cathedral photo was studied but not used as a runtime texture. Tree bark: Poly Haven bark_willow_02, CC0 https://polyhaven.com/a/bark_willow_02 . New trunks/canopies are locally modeled forms matched to visible reference features, not species-certified botanical assets. Music: Daniel Alomía Robles, El Cóndor Pasa; recording by Pracchia-78, created in LMMS and explicitly dedicated to the public domain worldwide by its author. Source https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Daniel_Alom%C3%ADa_Robles_-_El_C%C3%B3ndor_Pasa.ogg . Quiet normalized/faded adaptation and original source retained in assets/music-reference-v001. This replaces the old locally synthesized fountain/background sound, which remains muted. No Simon & Garfunkel recording is used. Sculpture geometry reconstructed locally with TripoSG, https://github.com/VAST-AI-Research/TripoSG , MIT-licensed code/model; source photos by Hunter. Smoothed closed reconstructions with inferred unseen surfaces. No paid generation API or purchased asset used. Original capture and earlier candidates preserved. ## September 15 improvement pass — people, traffic and architecture - Hyundai Accent 2013 by L95XP (Sketchfab account I95XP), CC BY 4.0: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/hyundai-accent-2013-cec6b04b06724f1088129c1054ccb1ec . Modified orientation, separated wheels, paint/glass, driver and fictional plates. This is a compatible compact-sedan visual approximation, not a verified exact local trim. License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ . Original downloads, metadata and hashes are preserved under assets/vehicle-candidates17. The downloaded Yaris candidate is not used. - People: MakeHuman community core assets (CC0) and locally generated MPFB 2.0.17 characters. Source/license: https://static.makehumancommunity.org/about/license.html ; https://github.com/makehumancommunity/mpfb2 . MPFB code is GPL; core asset output is CC0. Modified proportions, skin/clothing colors, hairstyle, local animation and rig exports. Original source pack and manifests are preserved under assets/human-source17. - Traditional clothing was reconstructed locally against coherent Chinchero references: Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco, https://textilescusco.org/community-detail/chinchero/6 , and the Andean Great Treks Chinchero group photograph at https://andeangreattreks.com/wp-content/uploads/CHINCHERO-CUSCO-BY-ANDEAN-GREAT-TREKS-2-1.jpg . These photographs were studied, not distributed as clothing textures. The red montera, red upper garment, dark pollera and blue/red lliklla are reference-guided approximations; no ethnographic exactness or individual likeness is claimed. - New near-context buildings use credited OSM footprints and available capture heights. Unsurveyed wall/window/roof detail is inferred. New grass blades, clock parts, church recesses, door panels and columns are locally modeled. Church color/detail continues to use the attributed Diego Delso adapted photographs under CC BY-SA 4.0; this pass adds masked lower-wall blends and geometric openings. No paid API generation or asset purchase was used. - Historical counts above describe preserved earlier candidates. The active improvement candidate contains fourteen pedestrians, six cars (two moving), 4,903 grass patches, the accepted 15,455 flower instances, and 102 visible new near-context buildings. Distant city placement remains approximate and is being visually checked before release. ## Review30 — 2026-09-16 current inventory This supersedes historical candidate counts above: 107 visible new near-context buildings, 20,580 inferred distant infill buildings and 10,082 additional lightweight hill trees in the latest infill mesh; fourteen pedestrians, six cars/two moving, 4,903 grass patches. The accepted 15,455 flower instances and ten reference-modeled park trees are retained. The 70 roof-gable cladding faces, chapel openings and clock parts are locally modeled, with the same credited materials. No new paid asset or API use. Traditional cloth and distant context remain approximate. ## 2026-09-21T21:54:43.941291+02:00 — outer terrain and botanical reference Outer terrain37 uses public Mapzen/Terrain Tiles elevation: https://registry.opendata.aws/terrain-tiles/ . Cultural content distinguishes historical references, reconstructed artifacts and invented game rewards. ## Finish49 — September 22, 2026 Tikal is an original fictional companion for the Explore series. English voice generated using ElevenLabs eleven_v3 and the stock Sarah voice, with Hunter's explicit authorization. No actor or game-character voice was cloned. ElevenLabs generated files, approved scripts and alignment receipts are preserved in assets/finish49/voice-tikal; the game uses offline WAV files and requires no API key or online voice service. The sun medallion, collection chime, companion orb and revised hillside lettering are original project assets. The hillside insignia was artistically relocated at Hunter's direction and is not in its true geographic position. The lettering correction preserves the intended wording VIVA / EL PERÚ / GLORIOSO / CUSCO. The final game uses CC BY-SA adapted church textures and the adapted bird recording under their respective licenses above. Other independent assets retain their stated licenses. Original source links and adaptation details are listed above; preserve attribution when redistributing the game or film. Music recording public-domain dedication rechecked on Wikimedia Commons September 22, 2026. No new paid assets purchased. Hillside shield: Escudo de armas del Perú.svg, Huhsunqu, with later community corrections. Wikimedia Commons marks this vector Public Domain. Source: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Escudo_de_armas_del_Per%C3%BA.svg . Original local source SHA-1 matched the current Commons source on September22,2026. Changes: converted to pale outlines and projected onto terrain at the approved artistic location. UE52: hillside shape/whitewash appearance revised in Blender and Unreal. Uses the existing public-domain reference assets; no new third-party asset purchases. See REVIEW-README.md for reference links and reconstruction limits. ## Music replacement — 2026-09-28, v052c This film uses **Charango_improv.wav** by **Bmangelo**, under **CC0 1.0**. Source: https://freesound.org/people/Bmangelo/sounds/466485/ . License: https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/ . The public HQ MP3 preview was used; original WAV not downloaded. Excerpted 0–40 seconds, gentle EQ/dynamic control, lowered mix level and fades. No claim that this is a recording from Cusco. This film contains no El Condor Pasa rendition and no synthesized bell; historical music credits above apply to older versions/game assets. Fountain recording retains its existing CC0 credit. ## UE55 release — 2026-09-28 The current game and film use the CC0 charango recording credited above; earlier music credits describe preserved history. Game excerpt: 0–80s with EQ, gentle compression, normalization and fades. Traffic54 is filtered from the existing CC0 Joseph Sardin recording. The synthetic bell is disabled. Church close detail uses Stone Wall 02 from Poly Haven, CC0: https://polyhaven.com/a/stone_wall_02 ; https://polyhaven.com/license . This scanned material is combined with the already credited adapted architectural photographs and is not a Cusco masonry scan. Surface refinements reuse existing credited materials. Explore Cusco wordmark: original graphic composition, rendered locally using installed Century Gothic. Font software is not distributed. Tikal appears only for a six-second welcome, then remains available as an offscreen voice. No new voice generation, paid assets or paid API calls were used for this release. === MACHU PICCHU === # Explore Machu Picchu — sources and credits Created by Hunter Finley. Copied from the existing local asset library; source metadata retained. Shirt/trouser separation and seated pollera mesh are new original modifications. ## October 2026 quality pass Original Blender work refines the Sun Temple bedrock and Sacred Rock, adds narrow fountain streams and clears terrain from the fountain interiors. Geometry, water highlights and planting remain artistic approximations. The pass reuses the licensed materials above. Three llamas are original authored models and animations, not scanned animals. No new generated narration or paid assets were added. ## v014 refinements Additional Blender-authored ceremonial masonry and carved-stone refinement, bounded terrain detail, camera compositions and planting reuse the licensed assets above. The Intihuatana shape was informed by existing photographic and published visual references; no third-party scan mesh or new restricted photo texture was incorporated. Scenic menu images are captures from this experience. No paid assets, API generation or new narration were used in this pass. October 18, 2026 environment and exploration refinement The Saqsaywaman grooved bedrock and nearby rock group include cropped geometry from Hunter's existing drone reconstruction. Surface shading uses the existing credited rock textures; cut boundaries are embedded in the playable ground. Their broad grade was conformed to the playable terrain; missing surfaces and surrounding architecture remain interpreted. Short silent reference clips are derived from Hunter's August 26-27, 2025 footage; the originals are unchanged. Revised terraces, retaining walls, planting, materials and distant context reuse the credited source assets. Photo-journal images are captured locally by the player. Existing narration is reused; no new paid API generation or purchased assets were used.
