Common questions

My dream is stuck without an interpretation or artwork

Dreams always save to your device the moment you tap Save. The interpretation and artwork need a connection, so if you were offline they arrive the next time you open the app on Wi-Fi or cellular. Animus retries automatically.

Image generation failed

Image generation can occasionally fail because of content moderation filters or transient API issues. Open the dream and tap the regenerate button on the artwork. If it keeps failing, the dream may have triggered a safety filter. Try rewording its most violent or sensitive parts.

Does Animus cost anything?

No. Animus is free. There is no subscription and no trial. You sign in once (email, Apple or Google) so your journal can follow you to a new phone; every dream receives its interpretation and artwork at no charge.

How do I delete my account?

Open Animus → Settings → tap Delete Account at the bottom. This permanently deletes your dreams, profile, and all associated data from our servers. The action is irreversible.

Can you read my dreams?

No. Your dreams are end-to-end encrypted: your device holds its own encryption key (synced privately through your iCloud Keychain), and every dream — text and artwork — is encrypted on your phone before backup. Our servers store only ciphertext we cannot read. Your on-device journal database is additionally encrypted at rest. The one exception, stated plainly: when you request an interpretation or ask the analyst a question, that dream's text is transmitted securely to our AI provider to produce the response, then it is not stored readable anywhere on our side. Until your first backup runs, nothing is stored anywhere but your phone; the only thing that ever leaves your phone is the text of a dream you ask to have read, sent briefly to the AI provider as described above.

Voice recording isn't picking up audio

Open iOS Settings → Animus → and ensure Microphone and Speech Recognition are both enabled. If they are and the issue persists, restart the app.
